B-29 Engines

Chrysler has a rich heritage in military defense production including the WWII's most iconic vehicle, Jeep built at the time by Ford Motor under contract with Willys for the U.S. government. Chrysler produced tanks, artillery and components of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress at the Dodge-Chicago plant exceeding their target amount and cutting engine production costs in half. By the end of the war 18,000 B-29 engines had been manufactured.
